Courtesy Pay allows you to overdraw your account up to the disclosed limit for a fee to pay a transaction. Even if you have Overdraft Protection, Courtesy Pay is still available as secondary coverage if the other protection source is exhausted.
Overdraft Protection applies to all transactions and may help prevent overdrafts by automatically transferring funds to your checking account from another account, or line of credit you may have at Deseret First Credit Union. A finance charge may apply. Overdraft lines of credit are subject to credit approval.
The Courtesy Pay fee is $28 per item presented. "Per item presented means each time an item is presented, including re-presentment."
There is no fee per transfer for Overdraft Protection linked to another deposit account you have at DFCU.
Current Balance reflects the full amount of all deposits and posted payment transactions. Available Balance is your Current Balance less any holds due to pending debit card transactions and holds on deposited funds, representing the amount available for purchases or withdrawals.
New consumer and business checking accounts receive a $100 Introductory Courtesy Pay limit at account opening, which increases to $600 or $1,000 after 60 days in good standing, depending on account type.
Standard Coverage includes checks, ACH automatic debits, recurring debit card transactions, online bill pay items, online banking transfers, telephone banking, and teller window transactions. No action is required to have Standard Coverage.

A HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) is a flexible line of credit secured by the equity in your home. Use it for home improvements, debt consolidation, major purchases, or other financial needs. DFCU now offers No-Cost HELOCs with no closing fees when you keep your line of credit open for three years or more. Your HELOC includes a 10-year draw period followed by a 10-year repayment period, allowing repeated access to funds as you repay your balance.
A piggyback loan is a second mortgage done at the same time as a first mortgage, essentially piggybacking on the first mortgage. DFCU offers these "piggyback" second mortgages for both purchasing or refinancing your home.
Homebuyers often use piggyback loans to avoid private mortgage insurance (PMI) costs. If you don't have a full 20% down payment for a home, consider running the numbers. A piggyback loan can make up the difference and save you money on PMI. Contact a loan officer today to discuss your options.
